HEALTH:- LEPROSY IS CURABLE
LEPROSY:-
Leprosy is a completely curable disease with Multi-Drug Therapy(MDT),a RIFAMPICIN, CLOFAZIMINE & DAPSONE. Treatment period ranges from 6 to 12 months if promptly taking the course of treatment at any stage of the disease.
Leprosy is caused by a slow-growing bacterium, name Mycobacterium leprae.
Leprosy is one of the least contagious diseases. In fact,95% of peoples cannot affect it because their immune system can fight off the bacteria that cause leprosy.
Patient with leprosy, taking treatment of multi-drug treatment(MDT) do not spread the disease.
A patient becomes non-infectious within 7 to 15 days, most often, after the very first dose of MDT can kill 99.99% of the bacteria.
